The storm in Valencia has disrupted the normal functioning of logistics assets covering 2.2 million square meters, particularly in the municipality of Ribarroja, where industrial zones house 1,400 companies across more than 1.4 million square meters.

The storm on October 29 severely impacted 46 municipalities in the central and western parts of the province of Valencia, resulting in hundreds of casualties and causing extensive damage to various types of infrastructure and property. In the affected area, logistical assets covering a combined 2,232,069 square meters of space in the municipalities of Torrente, Picanya, Paiporta, Alaquás, Quart de Poblet, Xirivella, Manises, Ribarroja de Turia, Loriguilla, Cheste, Chiva, and Montserrat were impacted by this devastating meteorological phenomenon. Special mention goes to Ribarroja de Turia, one of the most active logistics areas not only in the country but in all of Europe. With over 1.4 million square meters of logistics stock distributed among around 1,400 companies, operations in this area were forced to halt last week due to flooding, with groups of workers trapped at their work sites. Throughout this week, operations are gradually recovering as streets and facilities are cleaned. Additionally, regarding ongoing projects, Triangle REM reports a total of 105,885 square meters under speculative developments in Loriguilla and Quart de Poblet, along with 24,452 square meters of a pre-leased project in Cheste, 37,653 square meters in two built-to-suit developments in Alaquás, and 19,000 square meters across two self-initiated projects in Ribarroja. In the industrial zone of this last municipality, the Civil Guard has arrested five people who were caught looting various facilities on October 31 and November 1. Similarly, UNO reports that the primary specific needs of logistics companies in the area are related to cleaning machinery, power generators due to lack of electricity supply, telephone coverage, and security in industrial zones, especially at night.
